Substantial Internet Outage Hits Many Online Platforms and Applications

A large-scale internet outage has disrupted dozens online platforms and apps around the world, with users experiencing issues getting online following issues at Amazon’s online infrastructure service.

The disrupted apps include the social media app Snapchat, the gaming platform Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, in addition to several Amazon-managed services like its main retail website and the Ring security device manufacturer.

Across the United Kingdom, Lloyds bank was disrupted in addition to its branches Halifax and the Scottish bank, and also reports of issues using the the tax authority website on Monday morning.
