Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Approximately 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, producing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand residents in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
