Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A chopper soaring over a popular southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling wildly, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos posted on the internet depict the helicopter beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling near the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders reported five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
